What's At Stake
On Friday 9-23-04, Medea Benjamin, Normon Solomon and Daniel Ellsberg spoke in Ashland to a packed house. I had the opportunity to record the event and just uploaded some nice mp3 tracks from the evening. I invite everyone to drop in and take a listen at Radio Free Ashland just follow the link at the top.
In 1968, Pentagon analyst Daniel Ellsberg photocopied 7000 top secret documents on the Vietnam War. The "Pentagon Papers" were later published by the New York Times, exposing the lies of the Nixon administration.
Medea Benjamin is the founder of Global Exchange and Code Pink. During the Republican National Convention, Code Pink protested the war profitteering of Halliburton and Dick Cheney.
Normon Solomon is a journalist and author of the book "Target Iraq: What the News Media Didn't Tell You".
They were joined by folk singers Dave Lippman (as George Shrub, the world's only singing CIA agent) and David Rovics.
