Horn Gap Fire

Today a fire was reported in the Ashland Watershed. The Horn Gap Fire is currently 10 acres and was first reported at 7am this morning. This could be the start of the nightmare scenario residents have been fearing. Management of the watershed has been lacking and environmentalist calls for a series of controlled burns have been ignored.

The fire does not appear on http://geomac.usgs.gov/ as of yet. The GEOMACS is a great interagency effort to coordinate national forest fire information.
